Postpartum Hemorrhage

Simulation
Description:
This high-fidelity simulation is designed for senior nursing students to practice the early recognition and management of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). Set in a simulated OB lab using a birthing manikin and realistic clinical equipment, students will care for a 34-year-old postpartum patient, Paige Harris, who begins to exhibit signs of hemorrhage shortly after delivery. Learners will assess vital signs, quantify blood loss, implement PPH protocols, and communicate with healthcare team members. The scenario emphasizes rapid clinical decision-making, evidence-based interventions, and patient-centered communication, culminating in a structured debrief focused on clinical judgment, teamwork, and psychological support. Guided reflection follows the simulation to reinforce learning outcomes and improve future practice.
