Program

Refers to the healthcare-related professional program(s) included in the activity. Only click on the program(s) if the activity was designed to include those program's learners as active participants.

: Includes programs such as therapists, counselors, psychiatrists, and other health professions who specialize in caring for mental health concerns.
: Includes programs such as dentistry, dental hygiene, orthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery.

: Includes programs that interact with healthcare related professions such as early childhood, elementary, secondary, and special education.

Patient Type

Choose the patient type(s) that will be utilized in the activity.

: A case study is a written description of a scenario where the case is talked through instead of acted out.
: Human patient simulator used in simulation to mimic patient conditions.
: Learner peers portray patient's in simulated clinical scenarios.
: A standardized patient is an actor trained to consistently portray a real patient’s medical condition and history for the purpose of simulating clinical scenarios.
: A task trainer may be used in an activity to facilitate practice or demonstration of a clinical skill. This may happen when practicing or demonstrating on an actual person or manikin is not possible, practical, or allowed.
: A virtual patient is a computer-generated representation of a real patient used in simulations.

Modality

Assessment Method

Choose the assessment method that will incorporated for evaluating the participants.

: A formative assessment is an ongoing evaluation conducted during the learning process to monitor progress, provide feedback, and guide improvements. It can also known as experiential.
: A summative evaluation is an assessment conducted at the end of an educational program or activity to measure overall effectiveness and determine whether learning objectives have been achieved. It is typically used in competencies or graded activities.
: A high-stakes evaluation is an assessment that has significant consequences, such as determining advancement.

Experience

This relates to IPE experiences. Choose how this experience will be implemented during the curriculum.

: A one time IPE experience is a single, unique experience.
: Co- or Extra- curricular IPE activities are not affiliated with a particular course but are still required to meet end of program objectives.
: The entire course is based on interprofessional education core competencies.
: IPE activity is embedded in a course, but the whole course is not based on IPE content.
